Hydrography

Hydrographic survey ensures safe navigation, accurate data for marine and coastal development, efficient planning for dredging and port projects, reliable information for inshore construction, and sustainable management of coastal and environmental resources.

Hydrography

JP Surveys provides hydrographic survey services to measure and collect accurate data of underwater and coastal areas, including inshore seas, rivers, lakes, and shorelines. With a Certified IHO CAT A Hydrographic Surveyor, JP Surveys ensures precise results and full compliance with Malaysia’s regulatory requirements, including the National Hydrographic Centre (PHN) and JUPEM.

With a focus on precision and efficiency, these services are fundamental to project planning, supporting construction, dredging, port expansion, and sustainable coastal management.

Key Features & Benefits

Accurate Depth & Seabed Mapping

Captures precise water depths and detailed underwater terrain for safe and efficient planning.

Professional Certified IHO CAT A Hydrographic Surveyor

Our hydrographic survey services are carried out under the supervision and approval of our Certified IHO Cat A Hydrographic Surveyor.

Safe Navigation

We deliver reliable data to the National Hydrographic Centre (PHN) for charting, helping to reduce risks for vessels by identifying hazards and shallow areas.

Compliance with Standards

We meet industry and government requirements, including those set by the National Hydrographic Centre (PHN) and the Department of Survey and Mapping Malaysia (JUPEM), to ensure quality and safety in all marine surveys.

Versatile Applications and Data Product

Our surveys are suitable for ports, harbors, rivers, dams, reclamation works, dredging, and inshore infrastructure projects, delivering accurate data to support effective planning and development by using latest Surveying Technology.

Collaboration with Others (Professional & Qualified Partners)

We collaborate with other companies to expand our survey capabilities, including the use of USV (Unmanned Surface Vehicle) technology and geophysicist expertise for Sub-Bottom Profiler, Side Scan Sonar, and Magnetometer analysis.

Our Solutions

Detailed Scope of Work

Purpose of Hydrographic Survey

The purpose of a hydrographic survey is to measure and map underwater and coastal features such as depth, seabed shape, tides, and currents. This data collected supports safe navigation, port and harbor development, dredging, reclamation, inshore construction, environmental monitoring, and coastal zone management.

Services Offered :
  • Bathymetric Survey – Single Beam Echo Sounder (SBES) & Multi Beam Echo Sounder (MBES)
  • River Cross Section Survey –  For Flooding modelling, riverbank protection & hydraulic studies
  • Seabed Mapping & Topography – For dredging, reclamation & marine construction
  • Hydrological & Environmental Parameters – Tide, Wave and Current Measurement, Water Quality & Sediment Monitoring
  • Hydrographical Services – Side Scan Sonar Survey, Magnetometer Survey and Sub Bottom Profiling. (collaboration with certified partners)
  • Coastal & Port Surveys – Safe navigation charts (Certified and produce by National Hydrographic Centre – PHN), harbor maintenance & port expansion planning
